What is Business Process Qualification ?

Business process is used to define the acquirement of details relating to various activities that end up improving a product or service. This information can be acquired in a number of ways using tools such as flow charts to track data. Business process validation helps to determine whether the changes are effective and if the business process should continue to be used.

Business process qualification implies the action that is required in order to verify the processes involved in reaching a result in a way that it was planned. When problems arise during one or more of the stages of a business process then there can be major disruption as a result, which can have many negative side effects. This can include the inability to continue producing orders, shipping orders and others. All of these side effects can greatly effect the satisfaction of customers, the reputation of the company and overall revenue.

Other areas that can be affected include costs, since any errors during production can cost significantly more to recover than if the problem was recognized earlier in the process. It is a goal of business process qualification to find out if there are any defects for further production in order to minimize the effects on the business and the costs that go along with it.

When undergoing business process qualification, business processes are monitored and evaluated at each stage by using data. This is done in order to ensure that the stages are being executed in the ideal way and that they are being performed in the way that they should be. If any problems should arise, the information is immediately distributed to the appropriate department and scheduled for a repair. These qualifications can be performed in different stages of a process, such as project, periodic or continuous basis.

Project basis entails that the business process qualification is performed once new software is implemented. Periodic basis refers to the use of business process qualification on a monthly or annual basis.  Continuous basis uses business process qualification when organizations need to assess and confirm the abilities to use their procedures in the near future, or instantaneously.

The types of methods for business process qualification can be manual or automated. Manual qualifications require at least one individual to perform the necessary steps in the process by hand, by controlling and recording information. Automated qualifications use software in order to perform the various stages and to track the information.
